Hello again. Much has happened since my last journal– much more than I can possibly capture in the few lines of a paragraph.

*** You know how you listen to a favorite song over and over again, and suddenly you can't stand it? TOPAZ CLEAN. I've seen this effect used properly a few times– many months ago– but recently everyone has gotten the effect for their version of Photoshop. And suddenly everyone is using it like a mindless editor, editing their artwork until it looks like it's made from string cheese. I'm going outright and saying that I've seen "artwork" that looks hideous when it's simply a manipulation with TOPAZ CLEAN sprayed from corner to corner. Really, this useful tool is about ruined from being overplayed. It's more than upsetting that TOPAZ CLEAN is practically everywhere, painted over artwork that didn't truly need it, or was better off before the heavy effects. Make art with your mind and creativity. How creative is "making" is a TOPAZ CLEAN? No more TOPAZ CLEANS! There are quite a few people I know who use TOPAZ software often and successfully. Probably because they've been perfecting it for years, if not longer. In time I hope juvenile artists will develop this way and use TOPAZ to enhance their work and add that finishing touch. After all it is an effect, made to be an effect, not made to cover up artwork. Just a Shoutout on this growing issue– please comment with your opinions.

----- If you role-play, please read on.

My month to Iceland was beyond magnificent and compares to absolutely nothing I've encountered before. They say that people make a place, but I'm here to tell you that the place makes the people. Icelanders are perhaps the most resourceful, traditional, and mysterious people I have ever met. But I presume that all comes from living in a place of beauty, where tomorrow your home may vanish under snow, or be eaten up into the folds of the earth. In a place where tourists account for three times the Icelander population, it's no surprise that people want to stay to themselves, or else be known only by their family and their land. The time I spent there was but a drop of water in the sea, and already I'm startled by my own stark insignificance.  In comparison to the world around us, one human being is nothing more than a mammal on two feet. Yet we all strive to be something– to define ourselves in this world– and "leave our mark" if we're lucky. It's upsetting that so many people choose to leave their signature by destroying the world.. Instead of nurturing it. A brazen few devote their lives to witness the bounties this planet has hidden away.

Wolves are one of those selfless few. Although they live to provide for themselves and their family, they live in a world that we just can't imagine. I envy them for living in such close contact with their environment. Their senses are so fine-tuned that they live in a universe we can never understand. They hear things that no man will ever hear, and respond to the world in ways that man would never consider.

It's with this knowledge that I've begun to turn away from role-play. Not just that it entraps people away from the real world, but because it's so hideously skewed into human perspective. Wolf role-play in particular began as a curious wonder of wolves. Now it is a disgusting practice, warping and inverting the ways of wolves into horror and science fiction. The worst part is that people believe it. Young children, perhaps 10 and 12 years of age, grow curious about the wild canines of the north. They stumble upon a popular "wolf role-play"– in accordance with their search for media entertainment– and they find that wolves are nothing short of the monsters that ate Little Red Riding Hood.

Wolves are not the creatures to wage war on one another, or kill each other like mindless savages. The only creature that kills each other is Man. So called "killer packs" are some of these sickening culprits, teaching children and teenagers that it's OK to say that animals are just as thoughtless as people. I'm here to tell you that it's NOT okay. In a time where wolves are more threatened than ever by humans, no one can afford to have such twisted perceptions about these animals. A "killer" role-player might say "of course I understand it's just role-play, wolves aren't like this," but the destruction occurs when juvenile players don't think with such common sense. They may only get a taste of wolves via wolf role-play, and that will be all they ever learn for the rest of their lives. They vote on the ballot with True Satans in mind, giving Parliament the permission to exterminate wolves from the lower 48 States.

Some might think that this is all poppycock– that it's all too far-fetched to be true. The truth is that it's already too late for most wolves. So few people really climb the mountains to understand them. Most accept wolves the way media shows them; as killers, beasts, soldiers fighting wars in the wilderness, raping others and thinking with a demonic mind. That is not the way of the great wolf.

My argument stretches to "realistic role-plays" as well. Some try to give wolves the upper hand, and do away with killer practices and other trash that sick kids have come up with. Unfortunately, there is so much that is in the wrong perspective. The human perspective. Wolves live in a world where disloyalty means death. Not "killed by the alpha," but by starving on the tundra or being shot in the forest, all for wandering too close to a farmer's ranch. Role-players do not understand the gravity of the life they live online. They fail to respect the life of the wolf, and the ways of the canine kind. There is an aspect of fantasy to every role-play game, and people aren't recognizing that anymore. Wolves don't dive and catch fish from the ocean, or climb trees to gobble up newborn squirrels. Why waste so much precious strength on something so human.

It sickens me every time I see it. I see it so often now that I've all but thrown away the RP Community. Wolves hunt to eat, not to kill. They build dens to raise their family, not to make a fortress. They become alphas by teaching their family to survive. Not by bullying others, being elected, or being born into the alpha position like a King or Queen. There are instances where we see wolves bully each other in captivity. Not because they want to be a "royal" alpha. Because they have a stronger mind and body than the current alpha. Humans are born selfish and self-centered. We are the center of our own universe. No matter how hard you try and think differently, YOU are the only one that matters in your world. It's coded in our genetics, it's the human level of self-preservation. In maturing, one learns that he is not the center of the world. The only way to grow and succeed is to work with others, and accept that YOU aren't the only person that matters. It's a long and painful process to learn this. Most people never really do. They remain the center of the universe until they die, doing things without regard and dying selfish.

Wolves are one of those creatures that's evolved with a "family first" mindset. Where humans think "self over others," wolves live by "family over self." It's one of those things that we will continue to screw up, until we really devote energy to climb those mountains and understand the world differently.
These young role-players are selfish and ignorant, as we all were at some point in our lives. But it takes a certain fire in the soul to want to move on, to want to learn more and live fuller. Until we understand wolves, wolf role-play will always be a disgrace.
People who want to role-play wolves are the people we need to SAVE wolves. But we only teach them lies about wolf character; that they are killers and savage, untamed beasts with demonic minds. People's views change– they feel the pride of ruling a pack with evil intentions, the power that comes from doing others harm. Thus is born another generation of Role-Play Wolves, out to extinguish any trace of their ancestral heritage. Where their dreams were born, out among the endless winds of the wilderness, alongside the wolf's howl that rides those winds with life and longing.

What can we do to fix the problem, other than stop the problem? What we believe doesn't define us. It's what we do that makes us.

As I move farther out into the world and closer to the real wolf– closer to learning from them and protecting them– I'm faced with the challenge of reteaching every human about this carnivore. Little Red Riding Hood drew the wolf's first blood, and role-play took hold on those wolfish fears and fantasy. The blood's in the water and the sharks came many years ago. It will be a battle to ward them off without becoming a meal, and restore the clarity to that water surrounding the wolf.

I have not been this full of thoughts for a long time. Earlier today while at lunch break I surfed DA with my smartphone and started to read this journal. I did not meant to read it fully but I did, and beside too long lunch break my thoughts were filled with wolfs. Not so that my thinking would not be on wolfs often beside this but this time deeper than maybe ever before.

I don't know anything about Topaz clean but sounds like vise succession you have given, If I will ever do phone manipulations Ill probably learn with other tools first.

Now back to wolfs, and I have no idea where to start from. So much to say.

Okay lets say that to most of what you have said I agree and by this way let's skip a lot, but to actually start with future generation who will grow to adult age and will be voting on parliament. I truly hope that our world has that much sense that no member to parliament is chosen from those who wont even study the subject they are about to vote.

I think that it's not wolf roleplay on itself that is wrong but how to world today shows to people living on it. Especially on large cities and on families that don't spend time with their children. Its unfortunate to see so much of mental illness as there seems to be today, when young generations are grown up by "bad" kind of media. Many things on media and on raising child are OK even today and many manage to raise their child well even against all the odds I'm saying here. But I truly think that there should be more common sense on everything. I still do watch child cartoons and TV programs just from curiosity and I feel disgust to what I often see. General example what I often use is that there is so much violence and no one ever get really hurt even while missing head. In many cases it shoots so much over reality that even child understand that things are not like that but I have truly met young boy who hit other one badly and claimed that he didn't know that it will hurt. Nor meant to hurt actually. Other thing that matters a lot are adults and especially our parents, who are greatest and most significant example for life we have. Their generation learned to hate wolfs from child stories and cartoons, not to forget all the horror movies. have you ever seen over reacting mother who protects her child from dog or cat? I have met many who are afraid even horses (though no wonder) It just proves to me how far we have got from reality by living on tight society of our kinds and not seeing live elsewhere beside what we see on movies and net. I remember good example of discussion about local lynx problem. One man claimed to me loudly that its lynx fault that all deer who visited his yard are eaten by lynx. I said to him that deer have legs, remember? Anyways you see what I mean... lack of common sense. I see it even on market at times as I tend to talk and ask things from people. Some (fortunately rare ones) claim that minced meat comes from markets freezer and not from cows. -facepalm. -
That is how I see our modern world and I really think that ignorance and being too much on ones own life is greatest  sickness that will affect our understanding of nature around. Seriously.

Then again I think that Indians were doing well with nature as they respected it and lived from it. They didn't try to change everything like modern man but to live on harmony with what nature has to offer. :(

When thinking of fear that we have to wolfs, there are some really good reasons, and some really stubit ones as you may have already found out. I have studied a lot about this topic called wolf. I have not studied really wolfs itself as from that I can find a lot material with ease. Here where I live, wolfs are still kings of forest among with bears. Way too often wolfs, and wolf problem are on newspapers or at local rumors, since we have those a quite lot indeed at least to what local peoples think about their numbers. My dearest friend here who is old man already has a lot of different materials and access to many kind of sources that I would never dared to dream about. Now according to my and his discussions and his knowledge and what I have seen from his materials I will tell you following, but be noticed, he hates our wolfs here, not wolfs as specie. I will tell you later why.

According to history from church books and knowledge from generation to generation wolfs have been serious problem here on Finland, and it is completely false claim that peoples and politicians claim that wolfs have not killed peoples for hundred year. My friends firm studies reach to century 1800 beginning and from those we can see that especially small child from areas where are not much humans were often stolen and eaten by wolfs. More often dogs and cattle of course. Wolf attacks on especially to peoples during famine happened too since poor peoples often wandered from place to another as beggars. Many died to lack of food and diseases and if not killed by wolfs were at least partly eaten by ones. Then there is that one town where wolf problem run out of control totally. Wolfs numbers got so high that they were apparently lacking food and that times way of traveling was by feet. Literally tens of young child traveling from house to house or to help on fields were attacked, killed and eaten. There is even story of young 3 years old girl who was on field with her mother who was milking cows. Wolf came and picked girl up from neck and started to run with child on its grip. Mother was alerted by this and ran after with no change to arrive to help in time. girl yelled to mother. "Äiti älä itke, ei se satu" This is translated as "Mother don't cry, it doesn't hurt" basically meaning wolf wasn't biting hard. Parents found girls corpse some hours later. Since of this problem they went on largest wolf hunt ever on Finland and managed to kill most of wolfs from that area. Since that this kind of hunting continued few tens of years almost completely making wolfs disappear. Some more proofs of wolfs threats can be found from my villages local museum in form of dog collar. These collars have huge spikes that were meant to injure wolfs maw if it was to bite dogs throat, those apparently worked as those are used even today eastern parts of Finland, to where wolfs come from Russian Siberia.

Then to peoples and old knowledge. I have often heard that peoples here said to child that forest of haunted by bad spirits and other imagined things. I have understanding that wolfs and bears were not talked about, at least often, as those were respected a bit like Indians did.

It is modern worlds curse to have such tales and stories as little red riding hood, that basically turns great forest spirit to something evil and more common. Bear has still that tittle but wolf doesn't. I ques that much of it is since wolf is much more casual and less mighty by appearance. Not much different than dog. Also... wolf and human especially here at north eat and hunt same food sources and are thereby rivals. This is what causes so much hate to wolfs... rivalry between our species. Today there is other problem as humans live everywhere and there are no places for wolfs where humans would not be, and almost no human, I know from here, can accept to live aside with wolfs without rivalry.

Today we face same problem. Wolfs come from east and walk across our backyards, steal dogs and cats, attack cattle, especially sheep. Just months ago wolf was photoed crossing road next to kindergarten with about twenty child playing on yard. There is a lot of hate towards wolfs here but those are protected by law and even worse by European union. Penalty from killing wolf is really high and no one wants to be busted from that crime.

Unfortunately for this creature I have learned to respect and like. Wolfs are poached a lot on silence. That you who are reading this could have some understanding. During my lifetime, around where I live I have heard many times of wolf kills and killing. (I have even been taught how to kill a wolf, not so that I would ever do that but I find it better to know than not to know, same with wolf kills.) I think that I have heard of... about. 5-7 plus 3 kills from last winter that were busted by police. (Hunter who leaked plans of this poaching committed suicide days after unsuccessful hunt.) Here is link to case - yeswehunt.eu/de/main-navigatio…

Oh right and tear from this fact. I lived my childhood on stables. One day hunters came (apparently by my mothers request) and they found wolf den from about 500 meters of where I live. I don't know what happened to those wolfs :(  I have later on often asked things from these matters and well... apparently many of wolfs have had collars. Though usual way to get rid of collars at that time was to trow those to top of trucks that had Russian register.

Government thinks we have about 200-300 wolfs. Hunters claim and say that its closer to 1000-2000. To this day... I'm not sure witch one lies more, but I'm certain that wolf won't die to extinction, it is just that persistent specie and will get great respect from me since of that.
